I love a really dark nail and this colour is amazing.  I had tried a Barry M nail paint before and I wasnt that impressed with it, I think it was quite a pale colour and I felt the application was streaky.  But this polish has redeemed my faith in Mr.Barry M and I am in love with this colour.   

Its the nail paint in shade 359, Nightshade.  In the bottle it looks a very dark purple/maroon colour and once applied its an even deeper colour, almost black, but not as harsh, as it has got the warmth of the purple/maroon in it.  I got amazing colour and shine from two coats. It dried really quickly and lasted a few days without chipping - I am way too lazy for a top coat so it would probably last longer if you used one. 

For only £2.99 this is my favourite purchase this week and I think this colour is gorgeous for Christmas.

Good morning and welcome to day one of Blogmas!!!! EEEK! If youve missed what Im getting up to, Im blogging every single day up until Christmas Day and sharing all the goings on in the Laura Evelyn Bee household.  So lets get started!!! Each blog will run a day late, so today you are actually reading about what I got up to yesterday.

Today was our local village Christmas fair and what better way to start Blogmas! The whole village shuts down for the fair and roads are closed as pop up stalls, food vendors and fair rides take to the streets.  We wandered down around 5pm and Baba was just fascinated by all of the lights, sounds and goings on.  She immediately wanted a Santa balloon (which was £4!!!!!) and after alot of mumblings of the price of balloons these days, one was very carefully tied (read doubled tied) to her pushchair!!!

A woman actually walked into me as I was taking this photo and she said she had a balloon phobia and thats why she wasnt looking where she was going!  True story! 

I lost count of the amount of times good old Santa hit me in the face! 

They hit a big switch for all the street and trees to be lit up.  It was so pretty! 

And then came the fireworks!

Hmmm, I dont think I am ever going to win any photography prizes here!!! BUT, I hope that you get the jist of our evening.  We actually stopped in a gorgeous little coffee shop for hot chocolates and cake, and, before our order came I thought I must take a picture.  And guess what happened. Yep, I wolfed everything down before I even had chance to take a picture!!! One day I may actually not eat so quick to get a good food shot.  On second thoughts maybe I wont!!! 

We all certainly feel very festive now and the Santa balloon is happily bobbing away in our front room. Such a lovely start to Blogmas!!!!

There is alot of excitement that comes with the beginning of December. Mince pies (who am I kidding, I was eating them in November), Christmas songs, rolls of cellotape and missing scissors, and of course, it is truly the start of the Christmas countdown. This can only mean one thing. Advent calendars!!!

Baba has this cute mouse advent calendar that I picked up from T K Max (I just love this shop at the moment). There is a little wooden heart that you move along every day.  

I also bought her some Goodies organic gingerbread men so she can have one as a little treat too (shes very lucky!!). The gingerbread have no artificial colours, flavours, or hydrogenated fats and also have no added salt. I picked them up in Tesco for under £2 per box. 

I am one very, very lucky lady this year and my lovely, lovely husband picked me up the Benefit calendar! Woop woop!!! I have been dreaming of this calendar since last year, and probably to shut me up and get some peace, the calendar has now become mine!!!! Behind each little door is a Benefit treat of samples and other goodies, as a huge Benefit fan, this calendar is just amazing!!! (Pop over to my Instagram for pics of the goodies inside!). 

For Mr.Bee I have started a tradition (!) where I have a little box that I fill with a different treat each day that he opens every morning.  It might be chocolate, a pair of Christmas socks or another little gift.  It might sound a bit OTT, but all the gifts are quite small, and Baba and Mr. Bee quite enjoyed opening the box every morning last year to see what was in there.  Plus, with all Mr.Bee does for me, I think its only fair he has a little treat before he heads off to work, and it actually starts our mornings off in a nice Christmassy mood which cant be a bad thing.

and whilst I will win no prizes for my crafting skills (how I envy those lovely craft blogs), its home-made and its the best I could do :-)
