post pregnancy weight loss not breastfeeding | Pregnancy Blog Week 31

post pregnancy weight loss not breastfeeding

You will be pleased to hear that I have not dyed my hair green or orange this week, nor have I cried over my wardrobe.  This week, I appear to have managed to keep it together! Hurrah!

Baby is apparently almost the size of a pineapple (does that include the leaves???) or a honeydew melon.  Either way, that seems pretty big to me, and I can really feel it too. Some days I feel like an elephant crashing around the house. I have also developed a skill for hitting my bump against most objects.  I manage to hit it on the kitchen sink at least five times a day, and even my daughter seems to have learnt to duck to dodge it! I also managed to nearly have a shelf of books cascade onto it whilst I was out shopping. Spacial awareness clearly isnt my thing.

Babys movements continue to be really big and prominent, but I cant quite figure out how he or she is lying.  At my last 28 week midwife appointment baby was lying transverse, so I cant wait for my next appointment at 34 weeks to find out if baby is head down.

I still seem to have quite alot of energy, though I certainly know about it if I have a late night (and by late night I mean 10.30pm...I know, rock n roll!!).  I had two late nights earlier this week and for the next few days I can only describe it as feeling really hungover, which I think is an obvious sign I may have overdone it a bit.  Feeling so tired also seems to set of Braxton Hicks contractions just for good measure.

In terms of getting things ready for baby, we are still decorating the nursery (I have very specific ideas, so its been a bit tricky to paint it how I wanted to), but as soon as its finished I will get a post up. I feel I really need to start thinking of getting my hospital bag together now, because being the complete control freak that I am, I need to have everything prepared way in advance.  Yesterday I blitzed the kitchen cupboards, which is of course a necessity for bringing a new baby home?!?!?

I do keep having really severe rib pain, which seems to get worse after I have eaten.  It really feels like there is no room in there and my ribs are squashing together.  It was so painful earlier in the week that I just had to lie in bed naked (so no clothes were constricting me) on my side with my arm waving in the air.  I know, what an image!!!

Hopefully next week I will report that I have at least made a start on my hospital bag. Oh, and baby is still nameless.  Which reminds me I have to pester my husband about that tonight!!!

Thanks for reading,

baby weight loss 5 months | Falling out of love with social media

baby weight loss 5 months

I have been very quiet on my social media pages just recently (audible gasp), and, if Im honest, Ive just really fallen a little bit out of love with it all.  As a blogger, you are meant to have your finger on all of your social media pulses, but my enthusiasm to do this has been pretty dead of late.

I actually havent even looked at my Instagram for a week now, and Twitter Ive glanced at once.  But I can honestly say, I havent really missed looking them.  Before, without really knowing I was doing it I would be checking my news feeds and before I knew it, I would be looking at some random persons outfit of the day.

Twitter really annoyed me recently, and whilst I follow some lovely people, I was getting really fed up of people following me only for me to follow them back back and then they would un-follow me.  It really feels like to some people its just a process to try and get as many followers as possible rather than actually wanting to engage and interact with others.

And then Im fretting about what Im actually tweeting.  Does anyone actually want to know that Im on my third (ok, fourth) biscuit? (Ok, ok, fifth).

And its the same on Instagram.  Looking at other peoples beautiful snaps is lovely, but then as Im sat in my pjs with toothpaste round my mouth and my hair resembling that of a birds nest, I dont always want to be reminded of other peoples luscious locks and adventures in a fairytale forest whilst they ride upon pink unicorns.  Or something like that.

I hope I dont sound bitter.  Hmmm, maybe I do and well blame it on the pregnancy hormones.  But sometimes, its nice to take a step back and disconnect from that social world.

I realise I wont be doing myself any favours with gaining new followers with this post! This really isnt an advert to follow me on my social media!! But, its the truth and this week, its how I feel.

Of course, I will be back on said social media accounts, and of course I will always love a little look at what other people are doing / up to.  But its nice to remember that life is happening right now and we dont need to tweet or instagram it to enjoy it. Sometimes its great to just be in that very moment and not tell a single other person about that beautiful sunrise you saw or delicious cake you just ate, because, well, its your secret. Just seeing it with your own eyes and experiencing is sometimes just enough.

early pregnancy losing weight no morning sickness | Rimmel WonderFull Mascara Review

early pregnancy losing weight no morning sickness

Whenever I need a new mascara, I always feel really overwhelmed by how much choice there actually is.  All mascaras pretty much promise to give you the lashes you have been dreaming of.  They will volumize, thicken, lengthen, sculpt, even do your ironing (well maybe not, but you get my point).  I can spend a considerable amount of time umming and ahhing over a new mascara purchase.  My go to high end mascara has to be YSLs shocking mascara which is just amazing.  But when my purse wont stretch that far and I need a drug-store version, I always seem to find myself in front of Rimmels counter.  But again, they have such a choice of mascaras that I always feel its a bit of a random decision with whichever mascara I come home with.

Recently I picked up Rimmels WonderFull mascara with added argan oil. First of all, the promises.  With no mention of doing my ironing, it does state it will leave lashes feeling conditioned and soft, with no clumps, but lots of volume. So does it?

I have to say this is a really lovely mascara.  It applies really easily, has a large brush which is perfect for adding volume, and it actually feels like it glides onto your lashes.  And the result?  Lengthened and volumized lashes.

Now Im no fool, it could totally be the placebo effect here, that because Im thinking that there is argan oil in the product, Im convincing myself that my lashes are looking smoother.  But I really think they are.  The consistency of this mascara is really smooth and it does feel almost conditioning. You can build up the mascara for a more dramatic effect and it really stays put once you have applied it.  No panda eyes here. I also found that the mascara was easily removable and I didnt need to rub at my eyes to get it off.

Im really happy with the results and all for £7.99? Bargain.

This may not be a ground breaking mascara.  It basically makes your lashes look lovely and Id highly recommend giving it a go if you find yourself becoming hypnotised by the sheer choice of mascaras out there. Oh, and if I do find that mascara that does your ironing, I will be sure to post it here first!!

I hope all of my UK readers are having a lovely bank holiday,

See you on Wednesday,

signs of pregnancy weight loss | An afternoon Strawberry Picking

signs of pregnancy weight loss

Last Sunday as the sun shone, we donned our straw hats and headed to Scaddows Farm in Ticknall, Derbyshire for a spot of strawberry picking. I had never been strawberry picking before, but I had heard rumours that this year was a good year for strawberries, and never one to miss out, we had to go and see for ourselves.

We arrived at Scaddows Farm to a huge field full of strawberry plants and eager pickers. We collected a punnet box from a van at the top of the field, and then that was it, we were set loose in this enormous strawberry filled field to collect strawberries to our hearts content!

Even though there were lots of people there, as the field was so so big and there were strawberries as far as the eye could see, there was lots of good spots and space to start picking.  My husband had a good technique of rummaging in the middle of the plants to find the big ones, so me and my daughter left him to it and chased each other up and down trying to find who could pick the biggest strawberry. My daughter may or may not have eaten more than she was giving me (sorry Scaddows).

After we had filled our box, we headed back to the van where they weighed our strawberry treasure.  I think for the punnet it cost us just under £2, which is a complete bargain, alot cheaper than the shops and much more fun.

There was a little farm shop too at the top of the farm selling food, drinks and delicious cakes, but I will have to return to try this out. Strawberry picking is something that is so simple, but was such a lovely family afternoon out.  I highly recommend it, and dont strawberries just taste nicer when you have picked them yourself?

weight loss after pregnancy over 41 | An app for pregnancy Preggie Review

weight loss after pregnancy over 41

Theres nothing more helpful than a good old app when you are pregnant to give you the all important information on how baby is progressing, what size of fruit or vegetable he or she is and where you can ask, without looking like a total idiot, if you really can eat that cheesecake (though cheesecake-gate is another blog post entirely which you can catch up on here).  I was asked to take a look at a new app called Preggie, which lets you do all of the above and a little bit more.

Preggie is a free and simple to use app. You download it to your preferred device, then fill in a few details, such as your name, when is baby due and you set up a profile of yourself.

After youve filled in your information, you immediately get a feed from other pregnant ladies across the country.  Other users upload pictures, questions, status updates and how their pregnancy is progressing.  You can then interact by liking posts, adding your thoughts to threads, uploading your own thoughts and pictures, sending direct messages and following specific users.

What immediately struck me is the supportive nature of the ladies on the app and the ability to access the app to chat or vent or share a problem, whatever the time of day or night, and be met with supportive comments.

By including the are where you live, Preggie also lets you connect with women in your local area. Pregnancy can be quite overwhelming and daunting, and I think to know that others feel the same way as you do is very reassuring. I think the location feature of this app is perfect for any pregnant mums who want to find other pregnant mums in their area, want to make new friends, know what groups might be nearby, or even want to compare bump pictures (Im totally guilty of sneakily comparing bump sizes!!!).

As Preggie is just for pregnant mums to be, you know you arent spamming your Facebook timeline or asking people questions who really arent interested about your pregnancy. Everyone is in the same boat, and thats what is so special about this app.  You also receive updates about your pregnancy, and my baby is the size of a corn today if you are interested!

With any type of social media, you need to be aware of the information you share and apply common sense.  Preggie is strongly monitored which results in a very supportive community for mums-to-be during their pregnancy.

To try this lovely free app, click on this link to download: Preggie.

Thanks for reading,

Preggie asked me to try their app and the above downloadable link is an affiliate link. All opinions are entirely my own and I think Preggie is a lovely little app that is definitely worth taking a look at.

baby losing weight newborn | Pregnancy Blog Week 30

baby losing weight newborn

For some reason, entering week 30 has really made me think that I havent got long to go at all.  10 weeks really doesnt sound like a very long time to me, and I cant quite believe that 30 weeks of this pregnancy have gone by already!

I have felt quite well this last week, and apart from a slight hiccup on Friday night, there have been no Braxton Hicks or false labour moments! Ok, ok, so you want to hear about the hiccup on Friday night.

Basically, I have been getting really fed up of my hair.  Its so long now and takes so long to dry that I have debated whether to just cut it all off and be done with it. Usually when I start thinking these thoughts, I change the colour a little and then I like my hair for a few more months.

So, I saw some hair dye in Boots that gave you a bronde type of colour (not quite blonde but not quite brown).  You apply the dye with a little brush rather than applying it to your whole head and I thought this sounded fantastic as it meant the colour wasnt coming into direct contact with my scalp, and therefore would be a better alternative during pregnancy. All I can say is that home alone with my daughter on Friday night, a few hours later and my hair had turned a really lovely streaky shade of orange!!!

At 7pm, I rushed to Boots with a tired toddler in tow, and orange hair in a bun (I actually hid from someone I knew because I thought it looked that bad!!!!). I was a bit dubious of the bottles claiming to completely strip my hair of the colour, so I opted for another hair colour to mask my orange barnet.

Now, I picked up dark blonde, and whilst my hair colour is no longer orange, its also darker than I wanted (I had originally wanted to go lighter).  I spent the next few hours sitting staring at my hair and then, in a bid to almost cause myself more pain, I started Googling if you should dye your hair whilst pregnant (bearing in mind I had already dyed it).

I have to say, no one has actually noticed my hair colour change.  I had to tell my husband what I had done before he realised and my friends are none the wiser (unless everyone is just being very kind).  I wouldnt mind so much, but Ive dyed my hair a funny shade of orange at least three times now.  I thought you were meant to get wiser as you got older??????

But enough about my hair disaster which I am completely blaming on pregnancy hormones (though I think we all know thats no excuse) back to baby news.

We have finally bought a new pram, a new bed for our daughter (so her bed can convert back into the cot), and a new cot mattress.  As I type this, I am waiting for the deliveries to arrive, but I have a sneaky suspicion that I am going to have to wait in all day, and then they will come at 5pm or something.  Grrrrrr.

Baby is also moving lots this afternoon.  And we also dont have a name. I have to have a name picked out ready, because there is no way I can just come up with one on the spot after labour.  Every night me and my husband debate a lengthy list of boys and girls names.  But its ok, we have another ten weeks to decide!!! Eeeek!

Thanks for reading and have a lovely weekend,

baby weight loss nhs | Pregnancy Blog Week 33

baby weight loss nhs

Hello week 33 and goodbye to being able to see my toes, I could have hobbit feet down there for all I know!  I feel like my bump has really grown this week.  Simple tasks such as getting my socks on cause quite a commotion and I think my husband thinks he is watching a comedy show as I huff and puff getting dressed. Its all glamour here.

I also might as well tell you that I am out of breath.  Alot. In fact, if you want to know my precise location just listen closely. I think my mum thought she had a nuisance caller ring her earlier this week because I was breathing so heavily down the line. I am definitely in the last trimester now!

The nursery is almost complete! Almost! The painting is all done now and we just  need to assemble the cot and then find the Moses basket which I am sure I stored safely away in the loft.

Why do people put all the old baby things in the loft when in fact that is the worst place to put them? No pregnant lady in their right mind would ascend our loft stairs and fumble about in the dark. Every home should have a baby bunker where you store things and then when you are pregnant again you can waddle in and out to your hearts content. Instead, Im waiting for my husband to give me the nod and Ill hold the ladder for him whilst shouting at him I dont want the Christmas decoration box.  Not yet anyway.

I dont think Im actually waddling...yet.  Im pretty sure my walk is normal. Though others might say different.

Im looking forward to my 34 week midwife appointment next week, it feels like it has been so long since I saw her.

My rib-pain hasnt been too bad this week, and my heartburn has been OK too.  Could this be a sign that baby has moved lower down? We shall see!

My hospital bag is still not packed (theres a surprise)...but...I have bought a lovely overnight bag for myself that I will show you when its all actually packed.  I know I have my priorities all completely wrong here.  My husband rolled his eyes when I told him I wanted a nice overnight bag and offered me his old gym bag.  Erm, no thank you.

Ive had a person ask me if Im excited this week (groans...you can see why I hate that question here), and then someone has commented on how big I look (more groans).  So the inappropriate comments keep on coming.  I clearly soon shall be so big that I will be visible from space!

Thanks for reading and have a fab weekend whatever youre up to,

post pregnancy weight loss massage | Hello!

post pregnancy weight loss massage

Hello there! I am sorry I havent posted in a while.  Before LL came along, I had this idea in my head that I would still be blogging whilst she fed and Id be able to happily multi-task.  The reality is some days its a mission to brush my own teeth, let alone write a legible and coherent blog post!

But, here I am.  LL is 5 weeks old today and Im sat in the nursery feeding her.  Weve had a really bad night and I think I got a grand total of 2 hours sleep.  My husband is also away, so its been a tough week.  Not that Im feeling sorry for myself (well maybe I am just a little).  The kitchen is such a mess it looks like we have been burgled, and for reasons unbeknownst to me, I thought it would be a good idea to sort out a kitchen cupboard this morning.

I can only describe these first few weeks as some of the toughest times with sleep deprivation and trying to get into a rhythm of having two little ones to look after.  But, these first few weeks are also the most magical and special.  Its a strange mix.

I know these days will quickly pass, so when Im sat in bed shedding a little tear because I am so exhausted, I try to focus on the fact that one day I will want these days back.

One of the hardest things of being a mum of two is the guilt in trying to split my time between them both.  I feel guilty if one is crying while Im trying to sort the other out and at times I just worry if Im doing a good enough job.  I feel guilty if I am cleaning instead of playing, guilty if Im trying to Christmas shop instead of just being a mum.  But then I think all of this is part of being a mum.  I thought with my second I would worry less about what Im doing, but where I am confident in alot of things, that worry of if Im doing a good enough job is still there, especially when Im tired.  I think that just comes with being a mum and Ill never escape it.

I cant put into words my love for LL and I look at my two girls and wonder how I got to be so lucky to have this amazing little family.
LL has finished feeding now, so I will go and try and do something with the kitchen before feral cats make a home in there.

I have lots to share with you, from my birth story, to the things I wish Id packed in my labour bag and a little story of breastfeeding in front of 500 people!!!!

Thank you so much for reading and bearing with me.  I thought people may have forgotten about me and my little blog, but I was so happy this morning when I saw people were still reading and checking back. Thank you so much, it means so much to me to have you share my journey.

I hope you are having a good day, and I hope this post is legible and makes some sense.

Thank you for reading,

baby losing weight nursing | Why I dont want my daughter to hear the F word

baby losing weight nursing

As you may or not know, Im currently in the last trimester of my second pregnancy. A few weeks ago, I was stood in the front of the mirror. Normally, I am relatively happy with my body shape and the curves that pregnancy brings. But on this particular day, all I could see were my imperfections, and lots of them.  None of my clothes looked right, I thought my bum and hips looked enormous, and at least 100 times bigger than the previous day. Quite frankly I didnt like what I saw.  And it was then I said it.

I turned to my husband and said, Do you think I look really fat today?. My husband immediately shot a glance towards the corner of the room where our three year daughter was happily spinning around in her princess costume. I shut up straight away. I dont want my daughter hearing that word from me ever again.

For me, saying that word in front of my daughter meant that I was introducing her to this inherent and dangerous concept in our society. Lets face it, there isnt a day that goes by without the fat/thin/weight debate rearing its head.  The words fat and thin are banded about like they are commonplace.

I wonder how damaged the next generation will be.  Bombarded with cleverly airbrushed images, selfies galore and the impossible pressure to look like an image that is clearly unattainable

Where has normal gone in all of this? Our view of bodies is so skewed, that we look in disgust if we have cellulite, if our bums are a bit bigger or wobble, or at our changing and ageing body shapes.  Where is the wonder at how amazing our bodies are? That are legs walk us around every day? That we have a body that functions? That we are able to run after our children?

To me, its not about size or shape. Its recognising what is normal and thats we have lost. And its up to me to teach my daughter about a normal, healthy body.  Of loving your body, accepting every part of it, being grateful for every part of it.  Before she sees the sadness in the world of how we really have lost the plot with body image.

Thats why I will never stand in front of the mirror again and utter those stupid, stupid words.  By teaching my daughter, I guess I have to teach myself too. Life is too short and our bodies are way too precious.

pregnancy weight loss pills | Last Stop San Diego

pregnancy weight loss pills

The final stop on our American road trip was San Diego, which was to be our home for our last four nights.  We stayed in La Jolla which is a gorgeous part of San Diego and Id highly recommend staying in the area. Whilst close to all that San Diego has to offer, La Jolla was beautiful in itself and it was lovely to just stroll around.  We stayed at the Empress Hotel and I would highly recommend it.  We had a family room which was huge and equipped with a mini kitchen, dining room and master bedroom.  My daughter and I also loved the freshly baked cookies that appeared every afternoon!

Just a five minute stroll from our hotel and we were by the sea.  We were also really near the Childrens pool.  This beach has a wall built out to the sea to allow calmer waters for children. However, the calmer waters have resulted in the beach being populated by seals and their pups.  I think there is an ongoing debate as to if the seals should remain on the beach or if the beach should return to being a child friendly one.

We were quite happy to just admire these beautiful creatures, if they were a little on the smelly side.

Our favourite beach by far, was Shores beach. It was clean and had good facilities. It also had a great childrens play area too, so when my daughter got fed up of chasing the waves after a mere 5 hours, we then walked to the play area. Our favourite times were spent just playing in the sea and building sand castles.

There was so much to see and do in San Diego and I would love to return to see more of this amazing city. We visited an area known as The Old Town Market, which was this fantastic Mexican outdoor market with shops, restaurants and lots of local history and interesting buildings.

We also visited the Little Italy market, which runs every Saturday from 8am until 2pm, selling everything from beautiful art prints to flowers and fresh fruit. My advice is to go hungry because the food looked absolutely delicious.

Balboa Park was also stunning and worth a visit, though we only saw a tiny part of it.

Pacific Beach and Mission beach had lots to do too, from the gorgeous beaches themselves to mini golf (a must on holidays), shopping and so so many restaurants!  I have never eaten so much delicious fresh fish and seafood as I did in San Diego!

On our last day we went to the pier at Pacific beach and went to Crystal Pier bait and tackle, where you can rent everything you need to try and catch a fish.  My husband has never fished in his life, so between the three of us I imagined us pulling up a tyre or surfer. My daughter found it very exciting, even if she did nearly attach us to the hook on more than one occasion!!

But would you believe we caught a fish!!! An actual fish!!! It was absolutely huge...(please note, my husband has very, very large hands which gives the perception of the fish being smaller than it actually was!!!!!). You have to do this if you visit the area and the owners of the bait shop were really lovely and friendly. (I can confirm that no fish were harmed during our fishing expedition, and after being dropped on the board walk, the fish was returned safely to the water!).

It was the perfect day to end our perfect trip.

I felt like we had seen so many amazing things and it was lovely to spend so much time together, just the three of us.

baby weight loss newborn | Pregnancy Blog Week 34

baby weight loss newborn

So, its finally happened...Ive gone nesting mad! This week has seen me going a little crazy trying to get the nursery sorted.  Ive lost count of the number of baby gros Ive washed and I think the neighbours must think I have already had the baby, as every day there is a new outfit hanging on the washing line.  I am exhausted, but somehow Im still going.  I shall not be defeated.  I dont think it helps that my husband is currently away as nobody is here to reign me in, but, I feel better for getting everything sorted.  Its nearly, nearly done!

Today, I popped into town and bought all the things I need for my hospital bag.  I say need, and use that term quite loosely. Anyone would think I am going away to the Bahamas for two weeks as I perused the aisles and contemplated how I want my hair to smell post labour, whilst sniffing a copious amount of miniature shampoo and conditioners. Again, I know some would think Im crazy, but sorting these little things just makes me feel better.  Obviously, I have bought baby essentials too. Which leads me on to a going home outfit.

I admit, I live in my own little dream world, and in my little dream world, me, my husband, our new arrival and daughter will leave the hospital, and it will be wonderful. Our new little bundle of joy will be immaculate in his or hers gorgeous little outfit and we will make our way home for the first time as a foursome.

The reality of this scenario is that I will probably be waddling out, with possible sick down my top, and our newborn may or may not be wailing as he or she will need a feed.  A nice baby outfit will be the least of my worries.  However, this doesnt stop me.  And can I find a nice plain suit anywhere? No. I feel like I am the only person in England who has opted for a surprise knowing the gender.  All I can find is pink or blue outfits.  Or ones with words emblazoned across the front.  I will let you know how my search goes.  I did end up on the Selfridges website, but after seeing a Gucci snow-suit for £500 I decided I was definitely in the wrong place!

Im feeling OK in myself this week.  Babys movements feel huge now when he or she moves. Possibly verging on uncomfortable as my whole belly wobbles from side to side.  I have some belly button news too...well sort of.  If Ive eaten alot in the day, my belly button then  pops out in the evening.  It does return to its usual innie self the next morning, but I think its only a matter of time before it makes the transition to being an outtie full-time.

My 34 week midwife check went well, and baby is now head down which is good news.  She did say the position could change, but babys little legs were tucked under my ribs with his or her arms to my left.  Personally I think her or she is still doing somersaults in there, or at least trying their best to.

I will definitely have my hospital bag packed for next week.  I know Ive said this on nearly every blog post, but definitely by next week.  Definitely. :-)

Thanks for reading,

normal pregnancy weight loss | 5 things never to say to a pregnant lady

normal pregnancy weight loss

As soon as you announce that you are pregnant, it would appear that the general universe loses any sense of political correctness or common sense when they talk to you. In fact, I would go as far to say that when Im pregnant, people say the downright weird and bizarre to me.  Today I thought I would share my top five favourites of things you should NEVER say to a pregnant lady, and suitable alternatives which you might find useful should you encounter when a lady with a bump!

"Replace "you look like a cave woman who hasnt slept in weeks" with, "wow you looking amazing, youre glowing!".

1. "You look really really *big*"
*Here you can replace the word big with any given adjective that suggests the size of their bump isnt normal, i.e, small, tiny, huge, enormous, gargantuan.
Indeed, the size of the bump is the centre of much debate. But guess what? Its as big as its meant to be! Pregnancy is so individual and so are bump sizes.  Try instead saying, "Wow, what a lovely bump you have there. You look amazing!".

2. "Do you think youre having twins?"
Please see above for why this is statement is unacceptable, you may as well ask if she is birthing an elephant. Try replacing with,"Wow, you look amazing with such a perfect bump".

3. "Are you excited??"
I really cant figure out the answer that a person is trying to get from you here. Do they expect you to say no and then launch into a story of how un-excited you are????? Best not even mention this ridiculous statement and just go with, "Wow, you are looking great today!".

4. "Was it a surprise?"
Ahhh, this old chestnut.  Ive never been asked this one personally, but Ive heard other people ask it so many times.  What they may as well ask is if you were taking birth control or was the birth the result of a random and unexpected night of passion.  Fair enough if your mum or best friend asks you, but the woman who barely talks to you at playgroup, asking you over the play-dough table? Erm nope. Again, polite etiquette is to smile politely and say, "Pregnancy really suits you.  Kim K has nothing on you".

5. "You should really get your sleep in now".
This statement works on the theory that you can somehow bank sleep now and then utilise these extra hours when you need it most.  Yeah right.   have you tried to sleep with a bowling ball to one side of you and needing to pee at least 5 times a night.  Best to simply smile, keep your sleep advice to yourself and say, "Wow, youre looking amazing today!".

Im sure there are so many more that I could add to the list, but these are the ones at the top of my list. I know the majority of people mean no harm at all when they say the above things, but it makes me feel better to have a good giggle at how ridiculous some can sound!

Have you heard any funny pregnant comments? Or are you guilty of saying any of the above? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

pregnancy weight loss overweight | Pregnancy Blog Week 28

pregnancy weight loss overweight

I am officially now in the third trimester! Woop woop! There appears to be some debate as to when you are actually in your third and final trimester (!), but I think the consensus appears to be that by the time you are in your 28th week, youve reached the trimester milestone.  So hello third and final trimester! Eeek!

Baby feels really huge at the moment, though I know he or she cant be that big yet, but they are the biggest wriggler ever. Come 7pm baby appears to have a disco hour marathon, and waves every part of its little body.  You can actually see my whole stomach moving and baby really kicks out if you put a hand on my stomach.  I really cant remember my daughter being this active.  Ive read that the wake / sleep cycles baby has now are most likely the ones baby will have once they are born.  All I can say is we are going to be very busy in the evenings!

I thought I was going into labour on Monday night as all day I had what felt like Braxton Hicks, and then in the evening, my stomach kept feeling like it was going really tight and crampy.  Always the one not to panic, my imagination ran wild as I am so not ready AT ALL for baby to come, I mean I havent even finished reading my labour book!

I went to bed super early and then on Tuesday I felt lots better. Someone told me that your Braxton Hicks are much stronger in your second pregnancy?!? Im not sure what it was, but Im glad baby is comfortable and happy where he or she is for now!

I had my 28 week midwife appointment this week and all was well.  Baby is lying across my stomach in a little hammock shape, which may explain my continued rib pain.

So other than me panicking about labour, having rib pain and disco hour, all is well and I think this month is where I am going to get a bit more organised and finish decorating the nursery.  I also need to send my husband to the depths of the loft for the mountain of baby items that Im sure are up there!

Ive had people say some very funny things to me recently, so be sure to keep an eye out for a post next week of what NOT to say to a pregnant lady!

Thanks for reading and hope you have a lovely weekend,
