fetal weight loss during pregnancy | Its just another day

fetal weight loss during pregnancy

What a day.

What. A. Day.

So this morning the toddlers came in my room yelling, "Hot chocolate! Hot chocolate!" We have been having a cup of hot chocolate every morning since we decorated for Christmas, so that they wanted a hhot chocolate wasnt a problem. The timing of their wish most certainly was.

I had them wait. I got out of bed. I came to the kitchen for them to get into a fight over who gets which spoon. I warmed up breakfast. {Mommy tip: make huge batches of breakfast and heat it up over the next couple days. This week we had pancakes and oatmeal. This has made our mornings much smoother!} One of our toddlers had a stinky diaper that he did not want changed. He made it very clear he wanted to remain in his stinky diaper-- though no one wanted to be near him. In fact, he had to go to his room to calm down before I changed that diaper. When he finally emerged, his brothers were yelling, "HOT CHOCOLATE!" I told them if they keep yelling at me, there would be no hot chocolate. That we must be patient. (There was much confusion over the definition of this word, patient: perhaps it is an old wooden ship used during the Civil War era? No...) I changed the diaper. He joined his brothers at the breakfast table.

I finished making their breakfast plates. They continued dropping hints about hot chocolate. I continued telling them to wait. I glared at the Keurig to hurry up and heat up the water-- must have coffee now! Finally it all came together. Finally I made myself a plate. I sat down with my cup of coffee and my small plate of pancakes (you know, whatever was left) and started eating. Immediately, toddlers start exclaiming, "Sticky! All done! EW! STICKY!" I gave them baby wipes to clean their hands. They put their baby wipes in their hot chocolate and rang them out over their heads... I asked them to stop. Our oldest asked if he could watch a Christmas movie (also been letting them watch more movies earlier, due to the holiday season). I told him not yet. The toddlers demanded to get down. Our oldest wanted to know when we could watch one. I told them all that I would assist them after I ate my breakfast.

And so they asked me for the next five minutes if I was done.

When I cleaned all the hands and cleared all the plates, I discovered our dishwasher was ran before we went to bed last night, meaning I had a dishwasher full of clean dishes and about 5 plates, 4 mugs, 4 forks, and 1 knife filling the sink. Plus my husbands breakfast dishes (1 pan, 1 plate, 1 fork). The boys are now running free is syrup coated pajamas. I put the dishes in the sink, turned away from the dish mess, and went to deal with the boys. We changed clothes. They resisted taking off snowman jams. Our 5-year old insisted that he either wanted to wear his pajamas all day or nothing at all. I went to their rooms only to find no jeans in any of their drawers. I literally got them dressed sitting on the floor next to the dryer, pulling their freshly cleaned clothes right out of the dryer and tossing their pajamas in the washer as I undressed them. Our 5-year old approved, "We should get dressed like this everyday! Then I wont need a hamper anymore!" (For some reason all our boys dislike their hamper.)

The bad thing about getting them dressed in the laundry room is that I had to walk through the kitchen and see the kitchen mess again. Ugh. I tell them I want to take a shower now and they need to behave. I dont know what set him off, but one of our toddlers then started throwing a tantrum. Time out. I calm him down and tell them to behave. I told our oldest that there was no wrestling allowed while I was in the shower. He promises he understands. The other toddler follows behind me, "Hungry, hungry, huuuuuungryyyyyy...." No way is he hungry with 2 hearty bowls of oatmeal and 3 pancakes in that tummy, plus the glass of hot chocolate. I tell him he needs to go play. He throws himself face down in my bathroom. Time out.

I finally got in the shower. While I was rinsing the conditioner out of my hair from my super fast shower, two of my boys bust in the bathroom accusing the third boy of biting one of them. And sure thing, one of the toddlers has a huge bite mark on his shoulder. The other toddler-- the accused toddler-- is pointedly not  in the bathroom with his brothers. And so I rinse, get out and go sort this all out. Time out for the biter. Apologies, tears, hugs, lectures... An injured party. It was very dramatic. I cant believe he bit his brother while I was in the shower. Over a block tower.

I start thinking they need fresh air. I get ready. They wrestle. One of the toddlers falls off the couch. Our 5-year old feels his brothers are being too loud. The toddlers want to watch Frosty the Snowman. Our dog wants to go out. I felt like they just didnt want me to get anything accomplished. I wasnt entertaining them and I wasnt getting our stuff together so we could get outside and walk to the park. Nothing was coming together and they were all fighting, arguing, crying. I wanted a hug.

Lunches packed. Shoes on (why is it always the same child who cant ever find his shoes?). A debate ensued over whether or not they needed jackets (me saying it wasnt cold enough, our 5-year old saying his brothers needed their puffy coats). The toddlers fought over who could carry the lunch bag. All three fought over who could carry the picnic blanket. All three argued with me over whether or not they could bring toys (me: no; them: yes. I won). Keys forgotten. All go back inside. All go back outside. Finally on our way. Find the perfect spot. Realize we forgot waters. Do we walk back? No, we stay.

I settle us into our spot and the boys all fought to sit in my lap! What?! We get out of the house to go play-- at an empty playground, no other kids or adults to feel shy around-- and they want to quietly sit in my lap?! After wrestling on my couch all morning?! I insisted they go play.

So I listened to them fight over the swing. And over the random toys they found in the sandbox. And I wondered, "Why did I go through all this trouble to take them over to the park just to listen to them fight here? At home I have my book. My coffee. I dont have the problem that I forgot to pack water." I was just about to pack us up to go home when one of my girlfriends walked over and met us at the park. I chatted with her. The boys wandered away. They ran; they chased; they played. They went down the slides. The swung on the swings. And I relaxed. We ended up walking home feeling better, tummies full from our packed lunch.

They were happy until we got home and they realized it was naptime. I wrangled them into bed. It was one of those days that you look at the clock and think, "Is it seriously only 1:30 pm? There are so many hours left in the day!"

Im still not sure what Im going to do with all those hours.

Im just hoping the second half of our day is smoother than the first half of our day!

weight loss journey after pregnancy | 47 YEAR OLD NATURAL CONCEPTION AND PREGNANCY

weight loss journey after pregnancy

Woman Conceives Naturally at 47

Heres another one!
Heres another story of a woman who got pregnant by surprise at the age of 47.  So all you "youngsters" in your early 40s, it certainly happens!  Read more:

SEE ALSO: 49 AND PREGNANT (getpregnantover40.com)

From the article:

Becoming pregnant at age 47 wasnt a worry for Robin Brussel. "I enjoyed every minute of being pregnant," she said.
Still, it was a surprise. "I thought I was going through pre-menopause," she said. "It just happened."
Brussel, now 48, gave birth in December to a 6-pound, 10-ounce boy named Noah she carried for 39 weeks. He was a cesarean birth, as were her four older children, ages 18 to 28. Noah was the first child born to her and her husband, Mark Brussel, 56. Theyve been married nearly four years.

fat weight loss during pregnancy | Having friends with a busy family

fat weight loss during pregnancy

As luck would have it, the Navy brought an old friend back into our lives! I love that aspect on military life, the possibility of being stationed with friends again! Our neighbor from Hawaii just moved to South Carolina and now lives basically down the road from us. The last time I saw her, my oldest was about the age of her little 1-year old son. Now I have a 5-year old and 2-year old twins. She has a sweet, bubbly 1-year old who was content snacking on Plum Organic Puffs in a high chair while her and I caught up. As you can imagine, my boys were less than agreeable.

2 and a half is just a straight up hard to manage age. It is difficult to deal with when you have one child. It is even more difficult with two 2 and a half year olds. Even more difficult than that? When you also have an older sibling in the mix. The toddlers want everything their older brother touches. They take his toys, they try to climb in the chair hes sitting on. If hes playing on the floor, they want to climb on his back, wrestle with him. If hes outside, they want to go outside with him. And, of course, he can always get an argument going. They will be sitting at the table and hell walk over and say, "No." Out of the blue. No context. Nothing to do with what they are doing. Just, "No." Immediately their panties get in a knot, "Yes!" they scream. He counters, "No." And so a heated debate ensues, "Yes!" "No." "Yes!" "No." "Yesyesyesyesyesyes!" "Nononononono!"

To quote the Grinch, "Oh, the NOISE NOISE NOISE NOISE!"

I feel like the boys were so badly behaved during that whole playdate. Im definitely not saying that normally they are extremely well behaved, but things that normally arent such an issue were really difficult. Like, for some reason, our 5-year old started throwing his napkin in the air while sitting at the table eating lunch. He has literally never done that before. I was sitting with my girlfriend in the playroom, chatting, and we heard the loudest clanging coming from the family room. One of the toddlers had filled a bucket with blocks and dumped it upside down all over the floor. There were toys strewn everywhere. The toddlers screeched, "Noooo," when I told them to do something (honestly, so did our 5-year old). Our toddlers normally get tired and grouchy around 1 or 2, signaling naptime. They were behaving like they needed a nap at 12:30 pm! Omigosh, I think I apologized for interrupting our conversation to mediate arguing, screaming children like 10 times. When my husband came home that evening, I told him that it was just embarrassing.

My girlfriend, of course, was super sweet and didnt seem phased at all by our boys behavior. It is times like that that I wish I had a video of how things "normally" are around here, just so I can say, "It really isnt normally like this." Yes, things are normally busy. We normally have some degree of brotherly disagreements. We normally have a couple accidents, someone fell or something broke. We normally end up slightly off schedule or slightly late. We normally eat dinner a smidgen later than I wanted to. The toddlers are normally unpredictable at meal times-- will they eat today? Our 5-year old is normally extremely curious-- which has led to experiments gone awry. But normally it is just the right amount of chaos to keep each day exciting, keep me on my toes, keep things fun. Normally I dont need a referee whistle.

As a mom, it can be hard when your kids dont behave. In this instance, I really wanted them to put their best foot forward. I think I feel most self conscious of their behavior when hanging out with a mom who has younger kids than ours, when they havent "been there" yet. Now that our oldest is 5, some of the behaviors that I disagreed with in older children when he was an infant, I have found are just 5-year old behaviors. Some things I felt we would be strict on, we arent. Some things I thought we would be relaxed about, we arent. Some things I felt were signs of bad parenting, I dont anymore. Some things I felt were signs of good parenting, I dont anymore. It still can be hard when our kids arent being the sweet boys I know they can be, when they dont show the charming sides of themselves that we see. When the only glimpse given to a new (or new to them) friend isnt the glimpse I would have chosen.

This is why Im grateful for the friends in our life. Yeah, my girlfriend was probably a little overwhelmed yesterday. A 1-year old is seriously adorable, especially her sweet little boy. But she was understanding and actually wants to meet up with us again soon! :) Im not just grateful for our non-judgmental mommy friends. I mean all our good friends, our married friends without kids who truly enjoy hanging out with us and who always are exceedingly sweet to our boys (seriously, who wouldnt love people that not only say they love our boys, but who also play with them while I clean up dinner? Yeah. Fabulous). Our adult friends-- single, dating, engaged-- that find our busy family fun. My girlfriends that chat with our kids on the phone, that have special treats for them when we come to visit, that are available when we come to town for a girls night out (I love when my girlfriends love my kids and I love when my girlfriends take me out without my kids! Lol!). I love our friends who also have big families, like the friends I made in North Carolina with kids spaced like ours, twins and a singleton, or families with kids similar ages as ours, like a new friend made here in South Carolina. It is nice to be able to tell someone that the kids went nuts when company came over and they truly relate. Haha! :)

And, of course, friends like the gal I met up with yesterday who have littler kids than ours, who are accepting of our boys-- the good, the bad, and the downright toddler tantrums. I know from first hand experience how it feels to hold your sweet, well-behaved infant and watch a toddler have an epic meltdown over, say, a napkin. I know how it feels to think, "I will handle that much differently." I know how it feels to be absolutely surprised when my adorable toddler is face down and red-faced when company comes over or snatching toys at a playdate (or worse, snatching toys and then hitting his friends with those toys). I think that is part of the reason why I feel so self-conscious of the boys behavior in those situations, because I was that gal with the little guy before and I know what I thought on many occasions.

It really has been a humbling experience for me being on the other side of this scenario, the one with more kids, older kids. I hope that I can be the friend to these gals that my friends with more and older kids were to me back then.

What do you do when your kids misbehave?

kim pregnancy weight loss | UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY WE DONT KNOW

kim pregnancy weight loss

The expression "unexplained infertilty" means that the medical community has no idea why youre not getting pregnant.
If youre trying to conceive over 40, your age is a neat a tidy "explanation" for your failure to conceive or an explanation of recurrent miscarriage.

Unexplained Infertility Means The Doctors Have No Idea Why Youre Not Getting Pregnant

How did I deal with this? Well in an odd sort of way, part of my motivation to get pregnant naturally came from these "naysaying" doctors. I was going to prove them wrong.

How Dare You Tell Me Im Too Old To Have A Baby!

I would frequently think to myself, "How dare you tell me Im too old to have a baby --- you just wait - you dont know who youre dealing with". Nobody actually came right out and said I was too old, but the message was there.

Its funny, but when I did finally succeed, one of the doctors who was quite negative about my chances of getting pregnant was bouncing off the walls with excitement. I think they really do want you to succeed and as more of us do, perhaps their attitudes toward older women will change.  You have to realize that Reproductive Endocrinologists (or fertility doctors) see the worst cases, they approach each couple with pessimism.

Unexplained Infertility May Not Exist

Here is an article about how the diagnosis of unexplained infertility may actually not exist...it mentions that perhaps it should be changed to "undiagnosed infertility". Read more:

SEE ALSO: GET PREGNANT NATURALLY (getpregnantover40.com)

Conclusions

We have presented evidence that the non-diagnosis of UI is, at best, highly subjective and inaccurate and, at worst, non-existent. Indeed, were it to be preserved, one would, at a minimum, have to accept the notion that a diagnosis of UI always has to be seen as provisional and subject to revisions. Any serious attempt to improve the didactic terminology in the field of reproductive medicine, would, however, suggest that there is no longer a place for such a diagnostic entity. A better effort should be undertaken to develop reliable tools to diagnose, hitherto often undiagnosed, conditions of endometriosis, tubal disease, premature ovarian ageing and immunological infertility, which are often misdiagnosed for UI. Diagnostic terminology should be based on evidentiary diagnostic findings and not on their absence.

Even the best, and most accurate, diagnostic approach will leave some patients without a specific diagnosis. We would argue that such patients should be considered ‘undiagnosed‘, rather than have a formal diagnosis of UI attached to them. After all, they do not have a diagnosis!

weight loss on pregnancy | Potty Training What you need to know

weight loss on pregnancy

Summer is now officially here and that can only mean one thing for parents with toddlers...potty training!!!!! Out with those nappies and in with naked bottoms dashing around the garden, with mums and dads waving the potty manically, sporadically and above all enthusiastically!  Its a fact that the sale of potties triples in the Summer as does the sale of sticker charts and chocolate bribes (well I actually made that up, but Im sure if tested this hypothesis would be true!).

I wrote a blog post, The Potty Training One, where I wrote a diary about our week of potty training. This is a no holes barred honest version of the highs and lows of having a nappy free toddler, oh yes, and the pit falls of having a dog in tow too (trust me, this complicates things!!).

I also wrote a post about the pieces of kit I think you need to start your potty training adventure (!) and a portable potty that fits in your bag that I think is the best thing ever, the Potty To Go.

And armed with all of that information is all I think you need.  Dont listen to that woman down the post office who potty trained her child at 1 year (she didnt), or that lovely relative who kindly informs you that you are delaying your 18 month by not potty training them, and this could well affect their future career (it wont).  Potty training needs to be done when YOUR child is ready.  When they are showing an interest in the toilet, knowing whether they are wet or dry, and having an awareness of wanting to go to the toilet too.

Oh, and YOU need to be ready.  Dont do potty training when you have a really busy week at work, when you are having the house redecorated or your in-laws are staying with you for the week! I mean, come on, that is just asking for trouble!

Potty training is fine, honestly.  Remember when you freaked out about weaning, then once you did it, you wondered why you ever thought your son or daughter would still be living off milk at 32? Yup, well this is just the same.  Forget all the horror stories and if you and your little are ready then just go for it!

Good luck to all wannabe potty trainers and thanks for reading,

weight loss during pregnancy success stories | Preschool schedule

weight loss during pregnancy success stories

“Its bad enough wasting time without killing it.”
? Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth ?

Preschool... wow. In all honesty, I was really looking forward to the one-on-two time with my toddlers that preschool would give me, since my four-year old would be there for half a day. Now that weve been on the "preschool schedule" for the past couple weeks, I am looking back slightly longingly at the easy-breezy summer days!

Considering driving time, I essentially have a little over two hours while our oldest is in school. So, if I run one errand and it takes me an hour and fifteen minutes--our usual Target time-- I have 45 minutes left to... do what? I cant grocery shop in 45 minutes. I cant go home and let the toddlers nap in 45 minutes. Wherever I drive to, it will take about 10 minutes to unload and 10 minutes to reload, leaving 25 minutes to do something with two toddlers. Some days I do this accelerated shopping trip where I give myself 45 minutes in this store and 45 minutes in that store (these stops are usually for one thing, like PetsMart for dog food or Target for diapers); other days we slowly meander through whatever errand we are running that day to take up the entire 2 hours. The other day at the mall, I let both the toddlers walk. A man came up to me and grumbled, "This is ridiculous! It will take you hours to shop at this pace! Put those boys in the stroller!" First of all, Im not too sure why it bothered him so much that the boys were toddling along behind me (they were actually being surprisingly well-behaved). Second of all, that was kind of the point. The biggest problem with this awkward amount of time is that I end up sitting outside of the preschool long enough for the toddlers to take a 20- to sometimes 40- minute nap, with driving and wait time.

If you arent reading Honest Toddler, you really need to be. He opens up about "The Truth About Car Sleep" and now I finally understand why a 40-minute nap in the car means no 3-hour nap at home.?

Along the lines of "Car Sleep," having a set schedule also keeps my days flying by. We wake up, do our morning routine, spend the 2+ hours D is in preschool doing something, pick D up from preschool, go home to finish lunch, lay the toddlers down for their 3 to 3 and a half hour nap (oh, that part is deliciously sweet), then its time to make dinner and start our evening routine! Throw in evening plans two nights a week and suddenly its Thursday night and I thought it was still Tuesday! Where does the time go?

And our morning routine is horribly flawed, Ive come to realize. Im still not exactly sure how to get three kids out the door in a way that works for everyone. Either they are puffy-faced from crying or I look like I just rose from the dead. This morning was a little of both. The toddlers spent the morning stealing each others toys; the preschooler spent the morning following me around while not following directions; the dog was all over the place (I think he wanted to ride with us?). In the end, I had enough time to dab concealer under my eyes and brush my teeth and the toddlers had enough time to somehow work a fat lip in there. Im feeling like I am probably going to have to start setting an alarm and getting myself ready before all the kids wake up, instead of doing it after I get all of them dressed as I have been doing.

Perhaps Ive just come to realize that childrens school schedules are intense, even just with drop-off and pick-up. Perhaps I really can figure out a way to get us all happily out the door in the morning. Perhaps it really isnt as stressful as I think it is and Im really just stressed about my husbands crazy-busy senior year schedule (our third and final year of STA-21). Perhaps I just need a weekend away with good friends and good wine... Okay, I would even take just good friends and decent wine at this point. Whatever the reason, I need to find my stride. I feel like Im living in fast-forward!

weight loss journey during pregnancy | LUTEAL PHASE DEFECT AND VITAMIN C

weight loss journey during pregnancy

Luteal Phase Defect and Vitamin C

I have always associated vitamin C with the immune system.
This article, however talks about how vitamin C may also play a role in regulating hormones which may hep with conditions like luteal phase defect.  Luteal phase defect is when your hormones fall too fast in the second half of your cycle.

SEE ALSO: FOODS FOR FERTILITY (getpregnantover40.com)

From the article:

A number of factors can cause luteal phase defect. Recent findings have suggested that oxidative damage may play a role, and antioxidant levels, such as vitamin C, vitamin E, and glutathione, were found to be significantly lower in women with luteal phase defect and recurrent miscarriages than in healthy women. The potential benefits of antioxidant vitamin supplementation have not been previously explored.

One hundred fifty women with luteal phase defect seeking medical attention for infertility were enrolled in the current study. Levels of estrogen and progesterone were monitored for three menstrual cycles. The participants were randomly assigned to receive 750 mg of vitamin C per day or no treatment beginning at the onset of the third cycle of the study. During the third cycle, progesterone levels increased significantly in women receiving vitamin C but did not change in women receiving no treatment. Estrogen levels also increased in the treatment group but not the untreated group. Moreover, there was a significantly higher pregnancy rate in the vitamin C group than in the untreated group: 25% of the women receiving vitamin C became pregnant within six months of starting treatment, while only 11% of untreated women became pregnant in the same time period.

weight loss during second pregnancy | You know you are a twin mom when

weight loss during second pregnancy

My own list of "You know you are a mother to twins when..."

1. You automatically start calculating how long something will last.

Example 1:
"A bag of 6 apples will last the toddlers 3 days, throw in the preschooler and the husband and it will last one day with two remaining apples... Okay, 2 bags for 2 days."

Example 2:
"I want to buy this shirt for me, but it has sequins (aka baby magnets) and must hang dry... I could probably wear it twice. Lets go with this one. I wanted another plain, washable t-shirt anyways..."

2. You buy two of everything.

Two loaves of bread (which lasts about a week), two bunches of bananas (four days), two gallons of milk (almost a day and a half), two bottles of Ibuprofen (for the momma who is carrying around two 25 lb toddlers)...

3. You are always hungry.

You sit down with a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of yogurt for the toddlers along with a yogurt and piece of toast for yourself. The toddlers wolf down the oatmeal and yogurt, scream when the see you take a bite of your yogurt, so you feed them the yogurt, only to have the same thing happen with your toast... When you look at the clock, you see you are running late so you finish your coffee, get everyone dressed, and realize only once you get to the car that you had one bite of yogurt and one bite of toast for breakfast. Nice.

4. You are always late.

Why? I dont know. You set an alarm. You lay out clothes the night before. The lunches are packed and waiting in the fridge. You already have the address programmed in your GPS. No matter what you do, you always leave the house late.

5. You refer to your children in the plural, even when you only have one.

Example 1:
Stranger: "Aw, he is so cute!"
You: "Thank you. They look just like their daddy."

Example 2:
Doctor: "How long has he had this rash?"
You: "They came down with a fever on Friday, but the rash didnt show up until Monday."
Doctor: "They both have a rash?"
You: "No, only he does."

Example 3:
Friend: "How long has he been walking?"
You: "They started walking between 13 and 15 months."
Friend: "Oh, wow."
You: "Well, he started walking at 13 months and he started walking at 15 months."
Friend: "Okay..."

6. You operate like a small business, complete with business hours.

Example 1:
Your mom: "Hey, can you send me an email with so-and-sos address?"
You: "Sure. I will be on the computer from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm. I will send it to you then."
Your mom: "Sounds... great... thanks?"

Example 2:
Friend: "We should get our kids together for a playdate!"
You: "I would love to! We are free Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, Wednesday from 10:30 am to 11:45 am, or anytime Friday if you would like to come to our place."

Example 3:
Husband: "Can you drop this off at the post office for me?"
You: "No problem! I will be at the post office next Monday or two weeks after that on Thursday..."

7. You plan your outings, much like a special forces team.

You to your husband: "Okay, we are going to leave the house at 1045, head straight to the grocery store. Ill run the Redbox in while you wait in the car with the kids. Then well head over to Petsmart. We will use a shopping cart and the Buggy Bench. You take the boys to the back and look at the fish while I get the dog food. We will be in the store for about 15 minutes. After Petsmart, well give the toddlers a snack. Well save the preschoolers snack for Target, in between trying on jeans, which he will not think is fun. At Target, well use the stroller. The best way for us to pick out and try on jeans is if you take the boys while I..."
Husbands jaw drops as you describe the layout of the boys clothes department.

8. Your family questions your sanity.

Example 1:
Your mom: "How was your day?"
You: "Really good! The boys only cried for half the day."

Example 2:
Husband, at dinner: "What did you guys do today?"
You: "Well, both of the toddlers were constipated, so we had to come home and give them some pear juice. It really seemed to help. About an hour later, they both had movements which looked like..."
Husband puts fork down.

Example 3:
Your sister: "I dont know how you do it with three."
You: "Well, the crying really doesnt bother me anymore and I just made sure to find friends that know that I will run late or cancel."

Example 4:
You, covering the mouthpiece while on the phone with the insurance company: "Baby, we dont ride our brothers like horses."
Insurance agent: "Maam? Would you like to call back?"
You: "Oh, no! Its okay."

9. You dont get embarassed while out in public, no matter what happens.

Example 1:
Store employee: "Maam, is that, um, poop... on your... shirt?"
You: "Yes. It is. Where can I find Wellness dog food?"

Example 2:
Checking out at the grocery store while one baby is systematically throwing everything he can reach from the Buggy Bench out of the shopping cart and the other is screaming at full volume in the child seat, you to the cashier: "How are you doing today?" (Big smile on your face.)
Cashier: "Um, good?"

Example 3:
One toddler is screaming pitifully in the stroller while the other toddler empties a magazine rack. You are trying to pay for the three things (and ripped magazines) you came in for. The woman in line behind you suddenly lets out that breathy sigh-- you know the one: "Oh, twiiiins? My mother is a twin..."
You, with a smile on your face: "That is wonderful! You have a blessed day! Can you guys wave bye-bye?"
The toddler in the stroller looks up at you, red faced and soaking wet with tears. The toddler at the magazine rack flings a magazine down defiantly. You smile sweetly to the now puzzled woman who is shaking her head at "parents these days" and drop your purchases in your stroller as you leave the store.

10. You have great looking arms.

Example 1:
You decide to walk into the dollar store with both toddlers, no stroller. Your plan is to use a shopping cart once inside. As you cross the parking lot, one of your toddlers decides he doesnt want to walk. The other decides he also doesnt want to walk. Meanwhile a car is waiting to drive past. You have no issue flagging that car to stop, a look on your face so severe they wouldnt have tried to drive past even if they wanted to, while you stop in the road to pick one toddler up with one arm and scoop the other toddler up with the other arm. Into the store you go with two 25 lb babies!

Example 2:
Your morning routine consists of picking one toddler up with one arm, walking to the other toddlers crib and scooping him up with the other arm. Every morning. Without issue.
